EQ wave measurement?

How do I measure the full frequency spectrum, I'm trying to make a custom eq preset in realtek hd audio driver to make it easier for me to hear some of the sounds in rainbow six siege. I want something free if possible. I just need to see which frequencies to accentuate, and which ones to turn down.

Of course you will need a very good mic, here is a cheap one.

You can still use external mike with your phone (unless you're struck with one of there super-duper jack-less Fruit devices).

But this is still going to be difficult, because what you hear depends a lot of where you hear it from. Even if you sample the LineOut from your sound card, it will not be what you hear.
