EQ2 "an ailing citizen"

Is there anything that can be doen to help these npc's? As a monk I'm pretty
helpless but i wonder if a cure spell is cast on them, does it have any
effect?

I don't play EQ2 so I don't know what's targetable etc., but
as a monk, can't you at least put them out of their misery? 🙂
