EQ2 and WoW go well together :-)

WoW has an interesting feature: when you are "rested", you earn more XP.
Basically, when you are in an inn or city, either online or camped, you
become rested. You also become rested when camped in the wilderness, but
at a much lower rate.

When you fight, if you are rested you get an XP bonus: double the XP. The
more rested you are, the longer this lasts. A couple hours rest gives a
bonus that only lasts for about one kill. However, the manual says the
maximum rest, which would take about a week of being in the inn or city
to accumulate, would last for about 1.5 XP bars worth of kills.

So...I think I'll camp out for several days in WoW and play EQ2, then go
back to WoW and play that until I'm no longer rested. Repeat.

LOL sounds like a Blizzard "feature" to cure the login queues.

Max is 30 bubbles (1.5 levels) and acrues in 6 days. This applies only
to mob kills as well. Very nice for me - I haven't been actually playing
much recently, but writing Lua/XML - and testing it in the inn :) I
have almost a level of rest bonus saved up.

This, by the way, is great for alts :)

Nah - it went in a long time before any stress tests made those
necessary (and went through several iterations). Blizzard has
maintained that they don't want leveling to be a chore and that
they want people to try multiple race/class combos. This simply
aids in that.

Queues are actually a cure for being a victim of your own success.
250,000 units sold, 200,000 accounts made and 100,000 concurrent
users (in NA - this doesn't count Korea) on the first day. Add
that to the fact that the general channel on Silverhand has
calmed down to what I expected from an RP server - and so far so
good.

As an aside, if Bob Perez happens to be reading this, your worries
about competition for quest mobs in crowded newbie zones were only
about half correct - the new spawn system Blizzard implemented late
in OB did a lot to help with that.
