1) if you want to kill 500 gnolls, go to the caves, train the second level
onto yourself, area effect the lv 9 gnolls, when rested, go to lv 3 rinse,
repeat! This is quite easy and fast, and a partner would be nice but is not
essential.

2) There are lots of people who will not lift a finger to help you.
Literally. I had crugybar the rock standing nearby. I could almost but not
quite solo the bastard. Right next to me was a tank and a healer (I'm a 17
brawler) who were killing grey crag rats over and over. I asked if they
could help for a minute. "No", they said, "he's a quest mob... they don't
drop loot". I pointed out that presumably he'd give them xp (possibly more
than grey crag rats) but it didn't sell ...

I thought about bribery... then went stuff it. I've helped out heaps of
people without asking for anything, and i certainly would have checked the
quest journal to see how i could help them. I had alot of collectables on
me, for example.

3) Nek forest is a lot harder than everyone says it is, and greying out by
grouping with someone else will not help you, but if they can rez you that
can help greatly. First i did a trial run, and when i was ready, i ran the
whole thing solo and made it. Now i just need to kill the three named
gnolls, and i'm stuck. :p

I hate the way they never seem to see there should be a solo option for
these things, even if it's kill another 500 freakin gnolls. 8-<

It's gutting to see a betrayal quest mob de-spawn when you've been
calling out for people to help for the last 10 minutes. I must have
seen Dancoed of the Pine 4 or 5 times before I got someone to help me
in time. A couple of those times I had help on the way when he
de-spawned.... that makes it even more frustrating. Because of this I
made a point of helping *everyone* who requested help with the betrayal
mobs as long as I wasn't in a group.

I found the Nek run very easy but I had been there a lot with my level
26 assassin character so I knew the run inside out and didn't have any
problems.

It is a big pain having to rely on other people to help you before you
can progress any further.

Just to finish this off, I got lucky and found some people also doing these
quests, and we finished them off very quickly, although the last bit
(running from npc a to click thru dialog to get to npc b etc ...) was
painful. Oddly enough guards still draw their weapons at me but they don't
attack. I suppose that's as good as can be expected. :p

It would be nice if there was an ingame bulletin board for people looking
for quests, or perhaps a LFQ marker with a description field. I got invited
to lots of xp groups but there's no point when you are xp maxed, can't bank,
etc doing anything else.

Yes well, that assumes that you have an AE spell/attack of some type...

Some people will help, some won't. Just like in real life.

Keep at it, you will find others who are more than willing to help.

If you don't, get a partner who can, from what i have seen that's not too
hard. I think all melee types do and i presume other classes have something,
although my experience is limited. 500 sound slike a lot, but when they are
level 9 gnolls and yopu can get the max number engaged, they go fast,
especially if you have a partner. The named seem to be weaker now than they
used to be, and i found the toughest bit was the beginning and the end, the
beggining (nek run) being very scary.

As of level 28, Mystics do not.

I find it amusing that assistance and worthwhile groups are harder to find
in Qeynos areas than Freeport ones, in spite of there being a substantial
population advantage. At least that's the way it's been on the RP preferred
servers.

When in Freeport areas, help's fairly easy to find, but you can't OOC or the
Qeynosians in the zone will take the mob, even if they're twenty levels past
grey.

My first thoughts about this were that they were just roleplaying -
preventing a traitor turning from Qeynos to Freeport. But if you
really look at it they are killing creatures that the Freeport
administration want killed. i.e. they are furthering the cause of
Freeport.

Either way, its a bit low taking out an important quest mob that is of
no use to you. And they are supposed to be the good guys! From a
roleplay perspective you could almost justify the evil Freeportians
doing the same thing on the Qeynos side. Killing someone AND hindering
a traitor to Freeport.

On Inny, I found it fairly easy to find groups when I had to.
Although... the first of the named mobs despawned as the last of the
group was on the way. (He needed it too) Then, after the mindless
boredom (we were somewhat impatient) of waiting for him to respawn, we
started making trains of greys. That cured our boredom, so we did bigger
and bigger trains. Of course, thats when Towyn popped. So I am
suggesting patience throughout the quest, hehe.
