EQ2-Centaur Faction

I was in TS for the first time and a member of our group had bad faction
with centaurs. One attacked her, and the group fought back and killed it.
Now, even though I didn't touch it I have bad faction. I was really hoping
to avoid it because I wanted to do some harvesting out there without having
to worry about them. Is there any way to repair the faction with centaurs?

I don't think faction makes any difference. All centaurs are agro mobs
(expect a few NPCs) so they will attack you anyway.

You would have to out level them for them to leave you alone.

That's not true. I was in TS and walked right through the Centaur camps and
they didn't bother me at all. They are non-aggro MOBs until you kill one, or
are in a group that kills one.

Slapfish is correct, they are non-aggro until you or one of your party
members attack one then you are doomed for life =)

Killing the named mob, "The Banished" may increase your faction. and
killing the settlers in Thunder Villiage does as well,. these however
are very high for the zone,. so it is not real advisable. I don't know
of any other ways to raise Centaur faction, the quests don't seem to do
it that are given by the Watcher of the Fields.

I believe, based on hearsay, that killing the (Thundermist?) villagers
will give you faction with the centaurs. Which will of course make
them hostile to you, but at least they wander less.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound so gruff. I had just spent some
time out there with some goons in the group who wanted to maintain
their good faction with the centaurs but I needed some for my
armor quest, so I wasn't in a good mood. ;-)

Um, no, all centaurs are nonaggro unless you have killed one. I used to
run around harvesting all over TS before I became KOS to them. It was
great, and allowed me to do harvesting at a fairly low level. I joined a
group to kill Bloodtalon, not thinking to ask about their centaur status,
and, they killed 2 or 3 of them, and I've been KOS to them since.

Not the Watcher of the Plains - the other centaurs all hate me, but he
will give me quests.

Yea, but will doing those quests raise your centaur faction?

I'm not sure how I got on bad terms with them, but it certainly wasn't
through aggression on my part. They were always agro to me.

Perhaps some quest lowered your faction, don't know, all I can say is that
the qeynos aligned characters I have run there have not been KOS, and I
know of noone at all who started KOS.

There is a way to regain faction with centaurs, I remember hearing about it
and then dismissed it because really, it's not that big a deal. Like you, I
was a harvester who enjoyed the freedom of running around not worrying about
centaur aggro. But when you consider the number of quests that require
killing centaurs (including one of the armor quests) you're better off just
taking the hit and kiling them. When the time came and I finally went KOS to
them, it was actually quite liberating and opened up far more possibilities.
And you know what? I still continued to harvest. /shrug

By the way, although most players starts off non-KOS to centaurs, not all
do. I've known a few people who were KOS as soon as they took their first
step into TS. It might be a racial or faction issue of some kind with writs,
dunno.

I agree 100%. And it seems there are lots of places that you can
harvest without being too worried about aggro. For example,
there's a nice spot just southeast of T3 along the zone wall where
there seem to be very few mobs and usually several items to
harvest.
