eq2 differences between eq2 and eq1

I noticed the level range of mobs that you can xp from is tiny; the effect
is that groups can be awkward. For example, had a group with a 15 , 2 17's
and a 19 playing. The mobs the 19 wanted to tackle were usually white and in
groups, whereas i felt white singles would work better, especially as we
kept getting adds and had our backs to water and other large groups of nasty
mobs, so running was problematic. After we wiped a few times and disbanded,
i went back to soloing white mobs with no difficulty, because HO work so
well solo. Unfortunately, the mobs i wanted for my quest were grey but in
groups, so i couldn't solo them. 😛

The level ranges in eq1 were a lot greater i feel. Does anyone
agree/disagree?

3 single whites give lot less exp than 3 whites in group. Of course,
the grouped ones are harder to fight, but in general, solo mobs are not
good exp for groups, even if they're red.
Also, the best exp is when the group size is just big enough to handle
the situation without dying, so if the 2 17s can effectively kill the
white double arrow mob (for example), they shouldn't add more people
just to 'fill the spots'.

It certainly feels that way to me too. BUT -- it's
been a while since I played a level 20 character
in EQ so I'm not really sure.

The other thing to remember is EQ2 is designed to keep
you moving. A small level range accomplishes that
pretty well, especially coupled with the fact grays no
longer aggro.
