EQ2: graphics on TV commercial?

Anyone else see the EQ2 commercial that is running on G4TechTV? It's been
shown during the last couple of episodes of "The Screen Savers". The
graphics in the commercial are *way* better than anything I've seen in game.
Even if I set the game to the extreme setting (which, on my GF FX5900XT is
actually reasonably playable out in Antonica), it comes nowhere near
matching the graphics in the commercial.

So...is there a way to actually get those graphics in the game, or is the
commercial just misleading?

Didn't see the commercial but there are known EQ2 movies floating around
that use CGI, some which have been playing in movie theatres over the
summer.

One of the morning shows had a segment on EQ2 around launch and it looked
absolutely amazing. Like you, the game never looked nearly as good for me
when playing, although I forget the highest level I was able to set my
graphics to during beta. Maybe seeing it on a 32" TV screen instead of a
19" monitor made the difference.

Uh, dude that's CGI, like most games use in cut scenes.. Like Warcraft 3
etc... In fact it might be part of the EQ2 intro movie to the game, but I'm
guessing you probably just skipped right past that...? BTW whoever made that
intro movie did a very good job... I'm not sure but I think it can be
downloaded from places like www.fileplanet.com for those that don't have the
game...

Neither. It's a promotional CGI movie, not in-game graphics. They
never claim that it is in-game graphics. Lots of games use CGI movies
to promote their games.
