Two questions;

What is the possible level spread between highest and lowest level
character in a group?

I noticed under looting options a "Yell" option. How does it work
exactly?

Thanks in advance.

There is no restriction.

However, if a mob cons grey to anyone in the group - it cons grey for
everyone (meaning no xp or loot). Hence the lower level guys
won't get xp for attacking that mob, even though they could
get xp attacking that same mob if ungrouped.

As far as yell goes - there is an option to allow anyone to
break the encounter (i.e. 'yell'), or only the group leader.

Actually there is a restriction. I'm not sure what the formula is for
determining it offhand, but if you are too low you get a warning as you join
the group "You are too low level for this group. You will not recieve
experience for any battles."

It controls who can "yell" and break the encounter.

Idiot.

Not true, there is a restriction, when my level 18 shaman tried to group
with a level 25, I got a message saying I would not get any xp or any
quest credit for anything we did. Grouped with a 24, I had no such
issues, but, yes, the rest of the description on cons is correct.

One thing to note, this is actually quite handy for doing some quests,
group with a high level in the zone, and you can run freely around mobs
that would normally attack and kill you, as they all con grey to your
group now.

One example I know of for sure is level 18 grouping with level 25, I got
the message, it said I would recieve no experience, and no quest credit
for any battles. Given that we grouped to finish off some quest stuff,
that did not work, of course.
