They (sony) need to change the questbook sorting. Do you really care where
you got the quest? No...you want to know where you need to go to
collect/pick-up/talk whatever to move the quest along. I wanna know, if I'm
standing in North Qeynos, all the quests that need me to do something there.
I hate having to read through all 50 quests trying to pick out the ones that
are nearby. Maybe it was too difficult because as you progress through the
quest, it would move into different categories...

I suggested this in beta. Just a simple "show quests that have the name of
the current zone in the text for a part of the quest that is visible and not
checked off" would do. It would give you no information that you don't
already get by opening them all and reading them--it would just save a lot
of time.

I don't know if they'll read it but I did a /feedback on this same issue.
Maybe if we all do it they'll change it.

I can't see it as a difficult task from a programming perspective. There's
too many examples of masks being used (for example in tracking, the market)
for them not to be able to filter out all but those quests flagged for that
zone. Not seeing what database structure they use for quests, i can't be
sure, but unless they are doing something weird, it's a trivial task for
them.

I have feedbacked that since day 1.

I'd like to see it as well.

Besides, just look at the recipe book and the number of ways you can sort
that; by book, type of recipe, type of product, type of skill,.....

Furthermore, it could be done entirely client-side, so the quest database
structure is not even relevant.
