When I first started playing EQ2 I never got an option to select
server. I eventually found out what to do and got some message about
taking up considerable disk space.

It seems on install it automatically assigned me to a UK server, but I
wanted to play on Najena, and when I selected it it copied the entire
game to a sub-directory. Why does it do this ? Seems like a lot of
wasted space.

Cheers,

Huh? You pick the server when you create the character. I'm not sure what
you're talking about here?

Again I have no idea what you're talking about. It doesn't install
separately for each server. It only records which character is on what
server.

Sounds like he may have simply missed selecting a specific server and wound
up on whatever was selected at the time. I did the same thing with an early
character and had to remake because I forgot to pick the server I wanted.

I think some of the game's selection windows are a bit obscure, especially
for those just starting.
