Erasing DVD-RW with windows 7

Hi,

I want to erase my DVD-RW but windows says it can't do it .... Restarting this computer is not an option as it is a server that is used around the world almost 24/7 (minecraft). Is there a fix that I can implement? Registry, Reset of values, anything?

I changed the optical drive recently (2 months) and I do not want to use a 3rd party software. The problem does only appear on this computer but it is the one that I need to backup.

If you don't want to install anything, just buy another 50 cent DVD and use that. To re-use a RW disk you need to install a program to get Windows to work with it.
