Hello,

I just sold my computer, and I need to delete my information before I give it to my buyer. I am on windows 10, and I have a crucial SSD and a traditional hard drive. I bought parted magic, and I just erased my hard drive, but parted magic says my SSD is unsupported, so I can't delete the SSD. If anyone can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. My operating system is on the SSD, and I have a boot USB drive with windows 10 on it.

Thank you,

Porter

Okay, so I found out that crucial has a tool to do the job. But the drive cannot have a mounted partition and the system has to be in AHCI mode. I don't know what that means, so if anyone can explain that I would be very grateful.

Also, what does formatting an HDD mean?

Thank you!

Okay, so AHCI is enabled in the BIOS.

My other HDD doesn't have windows on it, and I only have a macbook pro if I need another computer. I'm starting to get confused. My software says I can't clean the drive because it has a mounted partition on it. But my SSD, which has the OS, says its the primary partition. Should I remove the drive letter?

Thank you,

Porter

UPDATE: I actually just loaded my windows boot media in the computer, then I formatted my drive and now windows is installed and all my information is gone. So I think I solved the problem, is there anything else I should do?
