why does my keyboard miss or repeat inputs (act erratically) specifically when my cpu or memory are under load?

Your PC is too slow or too loaded with work to keep up with the keyboard, or your keyboard signal has interference. Test with a regular wired keyboard and see how that works.

A weak keyboard signal could also be involved. Also try a new set of batteries.
