I recently changed out my old mobo for the Z97 - D3H mobo. I also upgraded my CPU and graphics card. I successfully enabled windows 10 on this mobo and everything is working fine.

However, every time I boot up my computer I get the 'error 0xc000000f'. I am able to get past it by just pressing escape and my computer will load like normal. Despite this, it's very annoying to have to do it every time and I don't like the idea that my computer has something wrong with it. I tried using my windows 7 installation disk to repair but it just comes up saying that it is unable to do so 'startup repair offline'.

I have ran a sfc /scannow in cmd and it came up saying that everything is fine... Can anyone help? Also, due to the error on boot I am unable to access my bios so that is not an option.

EDIT - I am actually able to access my BIOS I was just pressing the wrong key..

Now that I read them more I can see why you got that error, option 1 expects you to clear entire drive first, option 2 looks pretty complicated and option 3 uses some tool. I should have read it closer, sorry. This tool can do any hdd except the one you boot off: http://www.partition-tool.com/resource/GPT-disk-partition-manager/convert-gpt-disk-to-mbr-disk.htm

I think only way to get it onto boot drive is via a fresh install, since you said you backed up the drive already, it shouldn't take very long to get back to where you were already. I don't want to waste any more of your time. Fresh will wipe away any other problems caused by swapping the 3 parts of gear too.

Did you reinstall Win 10 after swapping motherboards & CPU? Is windows 10 activated? Normally swapping CPU & Motherboard means you need a new key unless you have a retail copy of win 10, Microsoft consider swapping those two = a new pc.

Anyway, it seems the error relates to the boot manager.

You can try: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/27649-startup-repair-run-windows-10-a.html - you don't need the win 7 disc, its not going to help. You can also access the bios through advanced startup

Based on this post: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-update/windows-10-0xc000000f/6f315d06-5964-490b-8058-012366a29476?page=10 I think you need to convert your hdd from mbr to gpt using: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/convert-mbr-to-gpt-disk and the errors should stop.

if you reinstalled win 10 fresh you would have found out your hdd was mbr when you hit the custom install screen and deleted the old partition. Its a hidden step needed in upgrading to win 10, it uses GPT instead of MBR, unlike every version of windows besides 8.

Copying all the data from my HDD to my external drive - I'll report back when I've done all this but it'll take quite a while.

I tried to follow your steps but when I get to the 'Finally type in convert gpt.' step it comes up saying 'the disk you specified is not MBR formatted please select an empty MBR disk to convert'
