Whenever I try to update my Windows 10 from 1709 to 1803, it gives me the error "0xc1900101". Tried googling and found http:// . Whenever I run Windows Update troubleshooter, it alwasy detects the same error i.e. "Check for pending Updates" & "Potential Windows Update Database error detected" . Can anyone please help. I've done disk cleanup on C drive and other things as well. I cannot always download 4GB data and just get to see the installation failed error then reverting back to old windows version.

My laptop specs are: i7-4500U, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, (I had AMD Radeon 8850M discrete graphics but it died)

Are you using Windows update or are you manually installing Windows 10 1803 update?
Make sure to disable or uninstall your third party Antivirus before installing then1803 update.
Also do these steps:
Press the Windows key + X, and select Command Prompt (Admin)
Type: Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth hit Enter
Type: Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth hit Enter
Type: Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth hit Enter

Go ->here<- and manually upgrade your computer

If after that you cannot install the update then you may have a corrupted OS, so you might need to re-install...

Did you follow the different troubleshoot steps on that link?
If you did and it did not help the start you PC in safe mode, navigate to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution and delete all content from that folder.
Try Windows update.

I tried all the steps on that link(except to reinstall). I did went to safe mode but the folder was empty.

You could create a Windows 10 installation media with the latest Windows 10 (1803) from Microsoft website
