I recently purchased a new Lenovo... I use Windows live photo gallery to import my photos from my iphone. Worked just fine until I recently upgraded to the new iphone 4S. Now when I import the photos, I cannot do anything with the photos...can't save, rotate, edit. Geek Squad tried for 2 hrs last night...had no idea except to reinstall the Windows operating system. I brought the computer home to see if it was the phone...no. I emailed one of the pics from Windows Live to another device..there's nothing wrong with the pics on another device. HELP please.

Ok, Guys...I was having the same problem and even Apple Specialists (via phone) could not help me. I went on "Just Answer" and a tech specialist on this website was able to help me via chat (although I ended up having to pay for it). Apparently, it is considered to be a common problem amongst iPhone 4S Photostream and (sounds like) Windows 7. The problem is "corrupted metadata" within the picture properties (aka: all the info about the picture) and so needs to be "stripped" or "scrubbed" in order to rotate, save, etc. I tried it with two pics that were sideways and it totally works!! Download this program called JPEG and PNG Stripper http://www.steelbytes.com/?mid=30&cmd=download&pid=15&lang=eng
and use it to strip the metadata except time and date. BTW: Multiple pics can be dragged in at one time. Happy editing!!! :pt1cable:

The reason the problem only shows up on some photos from the iPhone 4s is the Facial Recognition feature stored in the metadata. The only pics I couldn't rotate had faces clear enough to trigger FR in the iPhone.

When using the metadata scrubber tool below, all you have to do is drop the files in it and its done. The only thing you have to do is make sure you have checked the box to "Preserve file date and times" BEFORE dropping the image files into it.
