I took out my GPU because it was running somewhat hot in idle (45C), I replaced the thermal paste, and when I put it back my pc doesn't want to boot. It gives me this error 0xc000000e or sometimes even 0x0000225.

I can boot in safe mode and all, but it just won't boot normal. Did I break my GPU? I've done this plenty of times, don't know what could of gone wrong.

Specs:
i5 2400
8 gigs RAM
Radeon 6870
Kingston V400 120
2 1 TB WD hard drives

Update:
I managed to uninstall GPU drivers, now I can boot into Windows, but as soon as I try reinstalling them I get stuck at the same place again, Windows boot then just blackscreen or ocassionaly I get aforementioned errors.

Both errors generally say the same thing, which is the The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible. I don't think its your GPU, might not be hdd either if it boots into safe mode..

How old is the motherboard? Its possible you need a new CMOS battery. see: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2744141/error-code-0xc000000e.html

meanwhile, searching other problem, all the fixes want me to download more software to fix it.. nope, don't trust you.

The motherboard is actually pretty new, maybe 3 months old.

P.S. See my updated post above.

what motherboard do you have? It seems odd that GPU drivers can cause boot errors, besides the known black screen at boot problem. Actually stopping pc from booting is new, have you updated BIOS recently?

I think they two different problems, the boot thing and the black screen, but I have no proof, the black screen you get happens to everyone with the crimson beta drivers (http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMD-Radeon-Software-Crimson-Edition-Beta.aspx) as they written to cover a wide range of series and don't favor any of them well. Only real fix for it is a new card.

run this on your hard drives and see how they are: http://support.wdc.com/downloads.aspx?lang=en

Nah, I've established that the card is fried. It works when I unninstal the drivers, as soon as I install them, the system won't boot. It runs too hot in idle and will only work with Windows Basic Driver. Tried another GPU and pc runs fine.
