Hi! First post here.

I have an Asrock z87 Extreme4 motherboard with 16gb of RAM which works perfectly fine in slots A2 and B2 (8gb each), and I tried to add 16gb more RAM (so 8GB each stick) in slot A1 and B1 but I kept getting the error code 55. Each set of RAM is the same exact model just ordered years apart. I want to be able to put 32GB RAM on motherboard and make it work.

Cpu: i7-4770k
Ram: crucial 16gb kit ddr3L 1600mhz pc3-12800 https://a.co/d/1yzOj4x, website shows DDR3 but I received DDR3L.
Motherboard: asrock z87 extreme4

Troubleshooting steps I tried:
- Reseat all RAM
- Try each Ram in each slot individually (works)
- slots A1 and B1 works (both sets of RAM)
- slots A2 and B2 works (both sets of RAM)
- slots A1 and B2 works (both sets of RAM)
- slots A2 and B1 works (both sets of RAM)
- Slots A1 and A2 does not work
- A1 and B1 and B2 does not work (will POST but only shows 8 GB memory)
- B1 and B2 does not work (error 53, memory and CPU error which made me reseat CPU)
- A2 and B1 and B2 does not work (will POST but only shows 8GB memory in only A2)
- A1 and A2 and B1 does not work (will POST but only shows 8GB memory in only B1)
- reseat CPU (no pins bent)
- reset CMOS by taking out battery pressing reset button, leave for 30 seconds out, and then putt battery back in
- Seating all 4 RAMs shows error 55
- set DRAM voltage to auto, 1.35 (DDR3L), 1.5, and then 1.6 with all came back with the same 55 error with all four sticks put in
- taking out A1 and B1 and leaving A2 and B2 shows 8GB memory which I then reseat and turn back on which then appears 16GB memory

At this point, I feel like I've tried all the troubleshooting steps I found in the Techpowerup, Reddit, and Tom's hardware site.
Each of the RAM sticks work. I know it's not the RAM also because this is a re-order since I just bought the same set a couple weeks ago and it didn't work so returned, reordered and get the same issue with these.
The first set of RAM sticks I bought were from a couple of years ago and shows assembled in Malaysia.
The second set of RAM sticks I bought were recently and shows assembled in USA.
They're the same exact brand, Crucial, all 8GB DDR3L 1600UDIMM.
Should the assembled in USA/Malaysia be a factor of this?
Should I order another set and hope it's assembled in USA and it'll work?
Should I order another branded set?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

You're trying to mix and match rams, you will encounter issues as state in your thread above. you should return the ram kit and pick out the same kit you have in your build(down to the same SKU).

What BIOS version are you on for your motherboard?

Sorry didn't see the reply button.

Thanks for the quick response!

It's the same RAM set I bought from Amazon. It's all Crucial 8GB DDR3L 1600 UDIMM 1.35V CL11, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0091LG13O?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

Bios Version P3.40.

Thanks!
