Error deleting file folder cannot find specified file

Hello,actualy one file is there on my desktop when i try to delete it it shows there is no longer item in c:\user\hp\desktop verify the item and try again..so how can i delete that file...

try it in safe mode

first, try going into computer > C drive > user > hp then > desktop. Try deleting a file there.

If it doesnt work, then try using a utility called Explorer XP, then try deleting it again. Tell me what happens then.
