error in KRNL386.EXE

sometimes when I try to startup or shutdown or just in the middle of
something, my computer freezes up. Hitting CTRL ALT DELETE sometimes brings
up another screen, sometimes nothing works and I have to turn the power off,
but after many attempts ,I end up with this message on a blue screen
SYMTRAY has caused an error in KRNL386.EXE. SYMTRAY will now close. If you
continue to experience problems try restarting your computer . close
SCANDSKW has caused...
NPROTECT...
STIMON ...
STMGR...
AUTOCHK...
MSGSRBV32...
then I get a blue screen with an hourglass , nothing happens , press CTRL
ALT DELETE
message the system is either busy or has become unstable you can wait and
see if it becomes abailable again or you can restart you computer, press any
key to return to windows and wait.
press ctrl alt delete again to restart your computer you will lose unsaved
information in any programs that are running.
press any key to continue I hit spacebar
new message, an error has occurred . to continue: press ctrl alt del to
restart your computer. If you do this, you will lose any unsaved information
in all applications.
error:OE:0197:BFF8E648 press any key to continue ..I press enter
now I get a black screen. the system is dangerously low in resources would
you like to terminate the following application? CSINJECT I press yes
nothing happens
ctrl alt delete , new screen, windows, an error has occurred to continue
press
enter to returen to windows....etc.
new screen....warning. the system is either busy or has become unstable
....ctrl alt delete. finally windows loads.
this is happening more, and more.
I have windows ME. use norton internet security, , adaware. and get
updates, including windows update. I ran panda free online scanner and found
a lot of virus. and just added spybot. I ran spybot two days now and got an
-error during check-
XURON 55 (DATEI C:\WINDOWS\WIN.INI KANN NICHT!
Can anyone help me. My sister is having the same problems on her computer,
she also runs win me. Thanks, you guys are great, and have helped me often.

First, show hidden files, folders, and system files :
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

Next, go here and read how to download, update, and scan the system with
Sysclean :

Do a scan of the system in normal Windows mode, then boot to Safe Mode

and scan once again.

Also advise you to download, install, and update AdAware SE,
if possible : http://castlecops.com/downloads-file-451.html

Another program that can deal with worms, trojans, spyware, etc. is
