What is the cause of this error message in the browser bar? It was working
allright 'til now and only comes up while opening gmail.

Because of a problem with the web page itself it cnnot be properly displayed
by IE.
Did anyone else experience the same?
I would very much like to know.

Is it a page you have to sign up before you can see? If not, post the url

It is the logon page for gmail and now doesn't show up period. It was
starting to load and then stopped in the process with a blank screen and the
'Error on page' message in the title bar. That's all there is to it.
The URL is as follows:
http://gmail.google.com/gmail.

Harry, I just tried it and it opened my Gmail account up just fine. Did you
try the "s" bit? Can't remember what my problem was, but I couldn't get
Gmail to load, IIRC.

Hope you'll have a good night's rest, Shane.
All of a sudden I am getting this MSIMN error message.
Since you don't have any problem with the page, it must be my PC and in all
probability this error message has something to do with it.
I had this paticular MSIMN problem before and will have to recall what the
remedy was. If I am not mistaken, Mike had the answer, but the details need
to be refreshed.

I tried that and it didn't bring any results.
By now I know its in my machine, just don't know what's causing it. Maybe
with Shane's help we get somewhere.

What do you know, Heather, finally I got somewhere.
You were correct about the added "s" in http.
But I had to go to Googles Gmail and Privacy page and there they give you
that particular link, allowing for encrypted access (HTTPS). Did I say that
right?

Thanks to Heather and intensive research I found the source of my problem.
I needed encrypted access (HTTPS) and they provide the link for it on
Google's Gmail and Privacy and more page.Here it is again:

To my horror I just found out, that I gave free access to my gmal account to
the whole world.
Shouldn't you have warned me about that??
Thank goodness I don't keep private and intimate information on that
account.
I will have to think of a way out.

Simmer down, Harry. It opened to MY page....not yours. (VBG)

Glad the "S" thing worked......I had the same problem as you and found that
answer in their Help area.

No one saw your private Gmail account...OK?? Unless.........nah, never
mind. Rest assured your link merely opened mine up.....not yours. Due to
cookies, I should imagine.

You really do need to think before you post and panic less. <g> All that
happens is that you accessed your own personal gmail account without
having to enter your password etc thanks to the cookie stored on YOUR PC
and yours alone.

The exact message in the title bar is "Error on page".
It means that the page never finished loading because of errors. I will have
to find out whats causing these errors.
And this is only happening with the gmail webpage.
