Error message on a reinstall

What do the following error messages indicate an attemp to reinstall XP Pro.

cannot load:

pci.sys
setupdd.sys (errpr code 7)
serial.sys

Line 1093 of INF file \I386\ txtsetup.sif in invalid.

Windows XP Problems with Damaged or Incompatible Hardware
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
System32\DRIVERS\pci.sys

Setupdd.sys could not be loaded. Error code 4.

Setupdd.sys could not be loaded. Error code 7.
