I recently installed a new external hard drive. The drive gave me this
Error Message while installing:
"There was a problem installing this hardware:
HDS72252 5VLAT80 USB Device
An error occurred during the installation of the device
The specified service does not exist as an installed
service."
After closing the Error Message, the drive seems to work, but the message
keeps coming up every time I reboot or disconnect/reconnect the drive. I
have uninstalled/reinstalled this drive several times with the same result.
This drive works OK on another Windows computer that I have.
I looked on the Microsoft site and all I found was something about the
"spelling"?? Not sure what they mean? Windows is up to date. I have the
latest drivers for my Mother Board.
The drive brand name is Simple Tech. The model is STI-235/250 USB.
The computer is a WindowsXP Professional with a Shuttle AV49N mother board.
It has 1g of SDRAM. 2.4 GHZ Pentium 4 Processor. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
