trying to format W2K on a "possibly defective" HDD , i go through the four FDD boot disks, then the CD rom starts to load,....then blue screen comes up with the following message , with instructions to disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. (which i cannot see in BIOS)
does this error message mean a faulty HDD or something else ?.....(2 months out of warranty ) i ran the seagate diagnostic utility on this 40G barracuda ultra100 7200 drive , but it "comes up clean" ,note , this HDD always seemed to run hot 🙁
