error on installing sniper ghost warrior 2

I bought DVD of Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 from Flipcart. Steam updated the game but when I try to install the game, it asks for vc_red.msi (specifically: Microsoft Visual C++2008 Redistributable x64 9.0.30729.6161) and then the installation fails. This file is shown in my control panel>programmes>programmes & features (I have Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit). I downloaded from Microsoft site this file but it also fails to install. So, I am stuck with a dud installation of the game in Steam. Will someone please please help me? Thanks & regards.

Hi mate! Thanks for your prompt reply. I tried to delete the old version but an error message comes when I click "uninstall".. here it is:
"the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "vc_red.msi" in the box below". And it says "use source: e:\c3e92b9eb8ca260ccf153212\" Wow!! the same message when I tried to install the game!!!!!!! Got any idea?

There might aslo be some problems here, Visual C++ runtimes, try to uninstall it first
