Error on new computer

Hi all,

wondering if anyone else got that issue.

just finished assembling the new PC.

When I try to install win 7 x64 I get and error 0xc00000e9.

In the UEFI BIOS I can see my Crucial M4, WD 640 Go Claviar Black, and the optical drive.

Motherboard : P8Z77 V-Pro with version 0603

I get a short beep when I start the computer and in the manual the short beep description :
VGA Detected
Quick Boot set to disable
No keyboard detected

I can us e the keyboard and the mouse in the UEFI.

I continue my search if anyone got any tips that would be welcome.

which sata controller is your hard drive attached to?

had a similar problem on my P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3

if i used the marvel or jmicron controllers it would blue screen me

once i used the intel ports (grey on my board) and re-installed windows it all went fine

i only attached my ssd until windows was loaded onto it then attached the other hard drives

Hi mcnumpty23,

I got :
Navy Blue SATA6G_E1 and E2 (Asmedia)
Gray SATA6G_1 and 2
Blue SATA3G_3, 4 ,5 and 6

SSD connected to SATA6G_1

Also an updated, unplugged the SSD and boot up the windows DVD and no error encounter.

But, the BOOT_DEVICE LED is RED but when I was in windows menu for installation the LED was OFF.

Any special setting in bios? IDE, ACHI ??
Hot swap is set to disable.

Hi,

little update on the issue.

I was able to update the BIOS from 0603 to 1015.

everything is still detected.

No VGA, CPU or boot device led on. Was on at start up but now installing windows and led still off.

I will keep you update on that.

But, before installing windows and loading the dvd, still got the 0xc0000e9 error.

plug the hdd into the sata 6 ports


which motherboard you using?

and is it a ps2 or usb mouse and keyboard?

SSD is plugged in one of the gray sata6G port
the HDD is plug in one of the blue port SATA3G_3

USB and keyboard are USB. I moved them from the USB3.0 beside the PS2 mouse keyboard port in the USB2.0 below.

I was able to use mouse and keyboard during windows installation.

Doing a format on my data drive.
After that I wil install the drivers for mobo, graphic card and sound card.

did it end up just being the bios or was it something else... i am having the same problem

Hi Cluggly,

I'm sorry didn't post anything since then. I'm done with the computer since last saturday. haven't been able to touch it for one week.

for now, since the bios update I was able to install the OS and all the drivers.

computer run correctly and only had an issue while on D3. Except that, everything seem to be fine.

the boot_device led is red every time I start the computer but it will be off after some sec.

What type of error you got?

Was getting the same error you were, turns out it was a bad install disk. Made a bootable USB and had windows installed in less then 10 minutes.
