First off, sorry if this is the wrong thread. I'm in dire need of assistance and could use any help or referrals to support sites.

I attempted to do a system restore on my laptop (Sony Vaio model SVE15115FXS) after having issues with wifi connectivity. I tried restoring it first so that I'd keep all my personal files, but I got an error and it brought me back to my desktop.

Since I already had important personal files on an external hard drive, I decided to do a full wipe back to factory settings without keeping personal information. I received yet another error, but this time was prompted to start windows 10 normally, or to try the restore again. I chose to figure out how to do it when I had assistance from a friend and chose to start Windows 10 normally. Following my decision, the computer reset and when it booted back up the Vaio screen came up, then the screen went black for about 10-15 seconds, and kept repeating this process in a loop.

I tried resetting and turning off my computer for a few minutes and trying to turn it on again but it's stuck in that loop. I'm not very tech savvy, anyone know what's going on or how to fix it? (I have a video of what's happening if I can upload directly to the thread)

To cut to the chase, it sounds like whatever you did, you caused errors or corruption in regards to your Boot Manager/Master Boot Record (MBR), which is the component of your PC that boots into Windows.

Follow the steps in this guide: http://www.techrepublic.com/article/rescue-an-ailing-system-launch-windows-10-startup-repair-from-the-recovery-drive/

If that doesn't work you'll need to reset your MBR, here's a guide: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/repair-master-boot-record-mbr-windows

Once you're back up and running I would recommend looking into an alternative recovery/restore tool. I'd recommend a snapshot tool like Rollback Rx Home, but even a disk imager like Macrium Reflect Free will work too.
