So I just assembled my pc for a few days, had some issues with ram and xmp, had some blue screens, but were kind of solved after I disabled xmp (btw xmp 1 not xmp 2), and enabled it later. Sometimes games will just randomly crash, but today I wanted to oc my ram, and I enabled xmp 2.0, I booted into windows 11, and I had a memory_management bluescreen, I tried a lot of stuff, I tried each of the ram sticks in A1 slot and both of them passed memtest86, but when I was testing them in B1 slot, I had like 3-4 thousand errors popping out in memtest86, all other ram slots are fine. Is this a possible faulty ram slot?

motherboard:Asus rog strix z690-a
ram: Crucial BL2K16G32C16U4W 32GB
CPU: 12700k

it used to be that slots closer to CPU would be better (faster clock, lower latencies)..that was until DDR4 came out
with DDR4 A1+B1 is picky..it has lower overclock potencial/higher latencies then A2/B2
with DDR4 every mainboard recommends A2+B2 when using two ram modules as those sticks are tested there
