hi there
i have Dell T630 Server with Windows Server 2012 R2 DVD
it is equipped with 1 GB RAID Controller, 64 GB RAM, 4.8 TB Storage, 1 GB 2 ports Ethernet Card
i need to connect whole office, what components needed to connect other PCs with server or to setup a Network in my Office ???
can anyone help
i know not much about networking
Please i need guidance

Solution
Your problem I suspect will be more configuring your server to really use the features of windows server.

All you need is a switch or multiple switches depending on the layout of the office and how the cabling runs. In the simplest case you could just use a single 48 port switch and plug all the users and your server into that.

Optical takes the complexity and cost to a whole other level.
And almost certainly not needed.

Well...this is why requirements and a clear definition need to be discovered early.
You've just upped the complexity and cost again.

800 meters...what is between the two buildings? Do you own that land? What does your business do? What is the budget for this project?

This is when you turn yourself into the Project Manager, and hire a local consultant.

whole building is covered
between that 800 meters there are stores which ones also get connected
it is a Energy related company
local consultants are not being hired, because my boss is afraid of convincing his seniors about it
yes i have to do the PM's job for now hans i am not the PM :(
please give me the details what i need to connect everything with my Server
i really appreciate that

Does each site right now have its own independent internet connection and firewall? Is there a pre-existing server? But I agree with bringing in local consultant. This is something I do, and needs to be thoroughly planned.

When your office has major plumbing issues, do you do it yourself, or do you call a plumber?
Your network is no different.

You're in WAY over your head here. Whether or not the boss wants to isn't relevant, a consultant/company with experience in this sort of thing is absolutely indicated here. Unless, of course, you don't mind laying your head on the chopping block when this thing explodes all around you.

I'm sorry, but a question like this simply shows that you are in waaaaay over your head.

"I want to do an engine swap on my truck. What tools do I need?"

Look I would like to help you but this is just way to complex for the average Joe. But here is my quick solution. You will need to use Google to fill in the details.

Put put a business grade firewall at both sites, create a site to site VPN between 2 buildings, then you no longer need to string fiber between the two buildings. If the buildings don't have static IP from your ISP then I would get static IPs for both sites. The building with more computers put the server in there. Since you have 2012 R2 you can run Hyper-V and create two VMs. I would create a dedicated domain controller VM and a backup domain controller \ file server.

Like I said quick but I can't give step by step instructions at how to do this.

Also don't forget about a backup solution for the server.

It might not hurt to take some training classes to get a little understanding about what needs to be done.

You need to know, in depth, topics such as:

VPN
VM
firewalls
domain controllers
Static IP
Active Directory
Configuring Server2012
CALs
backups and recovery

This is not something that can be talked through in a Forum like this.

Advice has already been given. You are not (yet) competent enough to handle this yourself and need to call in a consultant. Doesn't matter what the boss says, one is sorely needed here. Almost sounds like he's trying to hide something from his superiors.

Not to mention the in depth networking knowledge required to hook it all together and secure it.
