Question Ethernet cable connected but shows no internet

So, I recently replaced my laptop hard disk. And since then I haven't been able to connect to internet via LAN cable...though I can connect through wifi. I have tried changing IP addresses and LAN cables but no use. It shows unidentified network the whole time. The LEDs on the side of the port also light up when connected. Any solution?

I doubt that you LAN adapter is disabled or LAN drivers are not up to date.

Or may be your ethernet cable is faulty.

If you can access the wifi from other devices, then configuration settings should be ok.

As far as LAN drivers are concerned, updating the network adapters was the first thing I did. Also I tried different cables which were working on other laptops but didnt work on mine. LAN adapter disabled?...How do I check that?

Go to start, type network and click on that.

Now right click on the network adapter and see if it's enabled or disabled.

You may also the the windows built-in utility to troubleshoot.

The same way, search, click on troubleshoot and proceed.
