Ethernet cable is not getting detected by the motherboard after a BIOS update

So, I got this CPU (e5450) and I've been trying to get it to work for a few days now, first it was overheating so I had to buy a new heatsink, after that I had to update the BIOS so I put in the old CPU and updated the BIOS and now the freaking Ethernet cable is not reacting at all when I plug it in. I feel like I've tried every solution that I could find on Google and I probably did.

When I uninstalled the network driver in device manager and rebooted the PC it did not install the driver automatically.

The motherboard is really old, I'm surprised I was able to find the updated BIOS (JW-IG31-MKII)

ipconfig/all gives me this:

BIOS update went smoothly, I reset the CMOS, took out the battery, waited some time and put it back in.

MAC does not exist in the BIOS, PnP is on Yes... I have no idea what else to do. Yes, I checked the cable, it's fine.

I'm literally about to fire up minesweeper and go at it...

Also when I open up network adapters in device manager there are a bunch of WAN miniports.

Glad to know everything is working fine now, but thats not a resolution, you could hadjust bought a wifi usb network adapter and that would had fixed things if u neede wifi but why would a perfectly working port just be corrupted from a bios update, that doesnt make sense and as being a analyst to such problem, dont see it as a solution... Sry, if i am being rude but i just cant get how a bios update damages a lan port....

I do not have another PC to download the driver from but I doubt it'll do anything. I'll try downloading it on my phone then plug my phone into the PC, I'll let you know what happens.

The driver installation is stuck near the end, it's been like this for a few minutes. First it had some compatibility issues so I ran it in compatibility mode for Vista.

Can you post a screenshot of device manager and also a screenshot of bios? And while updating the bios, did you update the bios to the next bios version or directly downloaded the latest version, because while updating bios you need to update the bios in proper order to the latest version.

I updated directly to the latest version, should I try to find the other version now? That's most likely why I'm having this problem.

Check and see if your motherboard allows downgrading to a previous bios. Dont force any previous bios on it as then it may brick your mobo. And can you provide me your motherboard model number?

I could only find v1.2 which is the one I have right now and I don't think this one is the latest one.

I did download it but it tried to connect to a website, I'm guessing to download the drivers but I have no internet so it couldn't. There's also an option in the settings to get the driver software from Windows Update but that didn't work either, I think it might have installed something but the ethernet cable is still not lighting up nor are there new adapters in device manager.

I think I touched the motherboard in some way or with something and made a short circuit. Thanks for your help though!

I guess my suffering is not over, PC just keeps shutting down randomly... I feel like everything that could go wrong went wrong.

If you have a spare psu try it. And check the temps also, sometimes overheating causes random shutdown.

I thought it was overheating the first time, it was running around 80°C when I checked in the BIOS so I bought a heatsink now it's at around 70 under load. I'm probably gonna have to get a new PSU.

Of course something else is gonna go wrong, I was checking if everything was connected properly and accidentally scratched the back of my GT630 with my pinky. Basically the graphics card is not working now, I don't know if the PSU was ever the problem, I might have ruined the motherboard for all I know. The fans are turning on but I think that's it, I can't tell what the problem is until I either buy a graphics card, PSU or motherboard. There's no beeping either...

At this point I'm afraid that I'm gonna get stuck by lightning... I just need a graphics card, PSU, motherboard and RAM, if you can find those for ~100$.

Will the GT630 2gb ddr3 be able to run anything though? I don't even know if it's working, I'd rather keep the e5450.
