(I apologize in advance for any spelling mistake )
Hello everyone,
I bought a cad5 ethernet cable for a smart TV, but it didn't work, tried everything I could find on Youtube, but to no avail. So I tried to see if the cable worked on my laptop(which is already connected to a working ethernet cable) but it didn't work,it would identify the cable and the connection, but it still didn't let me access anything online.
So I went and swapped the cable with a new one(cad5) and I tried to test it on my laptop first, but the results were the same,it identifies the cable and the connection, but it still doesn't work, at this point, I suspect it has something to do with the network, but I have no idea what.
I have tried the following: replugging the cable, restarting wifi/pc, disabling/enabling the cable connection in the control panel, installing new drivers, changing the ports the cables are plugged in the router but nothing worked.
Any advice is welcomed and if you have any questions please feel free to ask - thank you in advance.

Make and model Smart TV? Do you have the applicable User Guide/Manual?

How do you wish to have the Smart TV connected to your network: Wired or wireless?

I believe "wired" because of the listed Cat5 Ethernet cable references. However, you mentioned restarting "wifi".

Make and model router?

Make and model router?
The TV is a Sony Bravia XH80,and yes, I have the User Guide
As for the "wifi",I'm sorry,I meant router,it's a :Gpon onu an5506-02-fg ,made by Fiberhome.
as for the wired part, you're right, although that's the problem I'm having.

Will do this in stages:

First: The AN5506-02

AN5506-01-02 Series GPON Remote Terminal Product Manual (Version A)_1462297292.pdf (tecwi.com.br)

[Do verify that I found the applicable manual.]

Second: Connections

It also appears that the router has only two LAN ports: LAN1 and LAN2.

Do you have any other network devices - a switch or another router?

Maybe something like the following line diagram (edit and correct as necessary):

ISP --- Fiber --> GPON [Lan x] --- Ethernet cable --->[WAN] Router/switch [LAN ports] --- Ethernet cable ---> Wired devices and ~~ wireless ~~> wireless devices.

Third: Router information:

What the router manual tells me is that the router's default address is 192.168.1.1 (Submask 255.255.255.0) Commonly used for home and other small networks.

However, end users can and do change both. Do you know the router's login information: admin name and password? See physically numbered page 27 in the GPON manual.

Fourth: Configuring:

Run "ipconfig /all" via the Command Prompt on your PC. Post the results.

That will provide key router information needed to establish a wired connection between TV and router.

Specifically the results will verify the router's IP address and subnet mask. That information will be, in turn, used to configure the Smart TV per the TV's User Guide.

Basically the TV will need to be configured to request a DHCP network IP address from the router. The router will (should) do so and the two devices will be able to communicate. How to specifically do configure the TV will be in the XH80's User Guide.

No need to immediately change anything. Just not sure how far along you are with all this.

Key is to figure what the "now" and then how to proceed to get the Smart TV on the network. Without losing what is already successfully connected.

Thank you for the detailed response,
First:
Yes, that is the applicable manual.

No,I don't have another network device.
As for the diagram, I think it's like this:

ISP --- Fiber --> [WAN] Router/switch [LAN ports] --- Ethernet cable ---> Wired devices and ~~ wireless ~~> wireless devices.

Third:
Yes, I know the router's login information, both the admin name and password.

Fourth:
As for the "ipconfig /all", here is a google drive link to it.
