Ethernet cannot connect from ASRock Z97x Fatal1ty Killer MOBO

The network adapter on my MOBO is Killer E2200

So today, after 19 days I first turned on my PC. Beforehand everything was normal but this time there was no connectivity through the Ethernet port.

After checking device manager, there was nothing showing under 'network adapters'.
I ensured the device was enabled in the BIOS, but there was still no connectivity

I've also tried reinstalling the driver from the the MOBO disc, but it prompts me that no hardware is present so nothing can actually be installed...

Please help, this is very frustrating and I don't know what to do ...

Sounds like a possible hardware issue. Have you got another NIC you can try?

Clear CMOS, if that doesn't fix it, the NIC has died.

Other thing you can do is switch it into the other PCI2 slot on your mobo, perhaps the slot it is in now is buggered...
