Ive been struggling to get my Ethernet to work for about a year, nothing seems to work. Always comes up as unidentified network.
What ive tried:
-Uninstalled/reinstalled drivers
-setting Ipv4 to obtain automatic
-ip reset through command
-bought new Ethernet cable
-disabling firewalls
Other information: Ethernet to router works with other computers. Sometimes it says that the IP address is already in use. If you guys need more information id be happy to supply it. Thanks :)

From your description it really sounds like NIC card issue. If you already tried another cable and another port on the router and issue continues. Then I would just go ahead and order a new NIC card. They are pretty cheap and...
Try replacing the Ethernet cable with another (or at least testing it)

Also are you plugging into a wall jack or switch between you and the router? Could be a wallplate or wiring issue. You could connect a laptop to that jack and test to see if you get a ethernet connection on your laptop on the same wall jack outlet.

Also place your system on DHCP to avoid the IP Address conflicts.

Tried 2 different Ethernet cords; both worked on laptop but not on desktop. DHCP is enabled. The ethernet cable goes straight to router

device manager shows "device is working properly" . If i plug Ethernet cord into computer with nothing on other end; LED lights are orange and red; If i plug it into the router and computer LED are green and orange so it understands that something is there
