Title, gotten to the point where I'm really sick of playing on wifi because of latency ping issues and rubberbanding. I am new to connecting to the internet using Ethernet, now wondering which one should I get or does it matter? I have a gaming motherboard with comes with "killer" network so I think that would help, any suggestions?

Step 1.

Remove all the killer network garbage and install the killer driver that have all the killer features removed.

Your lan cables are not the problem when you are talking online games. Games use well under 1mbit/sec most under 500kbs. A cat5e cable will connect at 1gbit which is much faster than any game needs and likely is also many times faster than your internet connection.

Which one would be better at preventing interference?

Interference has nothing to do with the type of cable, only bandwidth. Interference has more to due with network infrastructure, local network traffic and congestion, and pings to the multiple different servers you'll be accessing.

I live in a busy household where my family streams/downloads a lot, it causes my ping in games to spike uncontrollably and overall become very unstable. Will an Ethernet connection help in any kind of way? if so, which one should I choose. Sorry if i sound like a total n00b.

Being wired will definitely help out. Just use standard Cat5e cable and you'll see noticeable differences in both latency and speed.

another question, again sorry for sounding like a n00b If I ask this. Do I literally just connect an Ethernet from my router directly onto my Lan port and i'm connected? or do I need to do any further steps in setup?

One end of the ethernet cable into router, the other into computer. That's it.
