Ethernet connected but no internet

New PC and plugged in Ethernet cable with no luck. Wifi is working fine off the same router

The error is : Ethernet doesn’t have a valid IP configuration

I’ve tried going into Cmd and flushing dns, resetting ipconfig and also ensuring ipv4 & 6 are both on auto.

Any other advice ?

How are you connected to the PC? using the onboard Ethernet port? Are you on the latest NIC's drivers? Are you also on the latest BIOS for your motherboard? You will also need to pass on the make and model of your router and state which port on the router is patched to the PC.

Connected via MoBo Ethernet slot (asrock z390 phantom)

Yes drivers updated via diagnostic tool. But keep in mind I don’t have internet connectivity to search

Router is Vodafone HG659 Home Gateway. Ethernet plugged into LAN1 in the router upstairs, then into the wall, then via another Ethernet cable downstairs to the PC

Ipconfig /release
“An error occurred while releasing interface Ethernet: an address has not yet been associated with the network endpoint”

Ipconfig /renew
“An error occurre while renewing interface Ethernet: unable to contact your DHCP server. Request has timed out”

Can you show command output of:

• ipconfig /all

Also - disable ipv6.

BTW which ethernet port on HG659 are you using?
There are 4 lan ports and 1 wan port. You should use lan port (not wan port) to connect your pc.

Better make a screenshot (and you don't have to mask mac address of your lan card).
