My ethernet connection is not working. Device manager shows that everything is working. Have tried to update the ethernet adapter, change to a new ethernet cable as well. Is there anyway to solve this issue?
If it is a waall plate, you need to figure out if it is connected to anything. Just because there are wall plates, it doesn't guarantee it is connected to anything.
It was working, but has stopped working recently.
You still need to find out what is at the other end of that wall plug. Something changed. Maybe your plug was disconnected. But you need to understand HOW you were getting ethernet. You can't fix it if you don't understand it.
What is the other end of that "new ethernet" cable connected to? Direct to the router or a wall plate? Have you tried a different computer on the same connection? Have you tried booting safe mode with networking?

Is a wall plate. Didn't try on a different computer as my roommate is using mac. Tried on the other wall plate, but was not working as well. Not yet try booting safe mode. How can I do that?
