Hello guys, i bought a gaming computer recently and installed win 7 on it.. the problem is that my internet speed is slow.. i get like 250 kb/s with ethernet cable on this computer but when i use the cable in my HP laptop i get 550 kb/s ...... I checked all drivers and they're all up to date but there is an exclamation mark next to the Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter.. does the problem come from that? or what is the problem i have on this computer? and what do I need to do to increase the speed and get as much as the laptop? ( i know that 550 kb/S still sucks.. 🙁 )
my comp spec :
8gb ram
processor : I5 4430S 2.7 ghz
graphic card : R9 270 2GB DDR5
WIN 7 64 bits
Lan driver : Realteck PCIe Family controller
I think that's all .. please guys gelp this problem is really disturbing me and that's not even only in the speed.. I have a high ping in game and i need to wait for minutes so everything appears in my news feed on facebook!!
Thanks everyone !

The following is copied from the Microsoft forum but I think it applies to you. You also need to go into your network properties and make sure IPv6 is enabled and it might not hurt to make sure your router is even capable of IPv6, which, if it's several years old, it probably might not be. It would help to know what model of router and/or cable modem you have. Here is the other info:

First thing I would like to suggest you is to uninstall and reinstall the device from device manager and verify if the yellow exclamation mark disappears.

You can also try updating your network driver by following these steps:
•Right click the Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface
•Update Driver Software...
•Browse my computer for driver software
•Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
•Select from the list and update the driver.

Also you may get this mark because the network adapter may not be compatible with Windows 7. Request you to contact the manufacturer’s website and download the latest driver/adaptor that is compatible with Windows 7.

i've checked and my router cannot use the IPV6 only IPV4..
so so far Microsoft tunneling adapter isn't the problem..

Yes, Microsoft tunneling adapter IS the problem. Tunneling adapter is only used for IPv6 except in the case of the Psuedo tunneling adapter, which is IPv4 and IPv6 hybrid. So although your adapter may support it and Windows wants to have it installed since it's supported by the adapter, the router does not support it which causes a problem. What you need to do is right click on it in device manager and select "disable". That should end that. Without your router supporting it, it does you no good anyway. Afterwards, we can go from there to see why else the connection is slow. I don't know how feasible it is for you to get a newer router but obviously that would be a good place to start. I know parts cost money though so we can see what else might be slowing you down but I"ll warn you that this isn't my strongest area and we may need somebody more knowledgeable to jump in at some point if I come to the end of my skill set. I'll do my best though.

nervemind I've just disabled it and my internet speed has increased a bit from 250 to 350kb/s but it's not the same as my laptop ( 550 ) that i use wifi on, so since it's ethernet i should get more than 550?
I do have Xfast Lan, would it help increase my speed?

Nooooooooooo. Do not use the Xfast LAN utility. If it's installed, uninstall it. All the ASRock utilities are worthless and just cause a boat load of problems way more often than not. In fact, if that's installed, it's probably the problem. Uninstall it and then reboot. Then go back into device manager and right click on your network adapter and select uninstall. Select "uninstall device driver" option during the uninstall. Then either reboot or go up to the "Action" menu at the top and select "scan for hardware changes". It should reinstall the driver automatically. Reboot afterwards and then recheck your network speed. If it's still slow it may be a setting on the router.

My bad. I didn't catch that part. So it pretty much has to be the network adapter which isn't surprising as the Realtek family controllers are kind of lousy as I've been discovering. I've got a slow connection issue myself that appears to affect both my laptop and my brand new desktop, both of which use Realtek family controller network interfaces. My other laptop with a Cisco interface gets great speeds. I'm looking into that as well and if I find out what the issue is I'll let you know because it will likely be the same issue. Hopefully.

Well, I don't know about Ismail but mine is as follows.

(Desktop) - ASRock 970 PRO3 R2.0 BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. P1.70, 6/5/2014
Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller Service Name RTL8168
Drive version 8.32.508.2014

And the laptop is an HP envy m6-1205dx with the exact same RTL8168 chipset. Both have the same issues and you can see the detailed specs on the network issues here: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2226305/advanced-networking-troubleshooting.html
