Ethernet connection suddenly not working

For the past 6 months, I've been running an ethernet cable from my computer, through an electrical powerline adapter, to my router. I've been getting great speeds, and it's been a painless process. But now, it just doesn't work. I have no idea what happened. I didn't install anything, I didn't uninstall anything.

The powerline adapters aren't the problem, they are showing connected. My Ethernet says it's connected to an Unidentified Network, but I'm not actually getting any connection. I've tried using Windows to diagnose the problem, and it says that "Ethernet 4 doesn't have a valid IP configuration".

I've looked around, but can't find anyone with the exact same issue, and the solutions to the ones that were similar don't work for me.

I'm running Windows 10 and using a Netgear WNR2000v2.

Thank you for any and all help

Hi

You have not told us what you have tried so far.
you may have tried these things or not

first recomendation is reboot router / modem /wireless access point (any change?)

next is try another PC or laptop to same ethernet cable from second powerline adapter.
Is network connection fault with first PC only or both PC's

then either use your PC or any other laptop or PC to connect to same ethernet port on modem / router which currently goes to first power line adapter.

If it now works probably power line adapter problem.

If not problem may be in modem / router /wireless access point or bad ethernet cable or one faulty port on router
as router hands out IP address to PC's (or devices) on network
(assuming default of using dhcp server in router to provide network IP address)

Sorry, forgot to mention all that. I've tried restarting and resetting the router and my PC, I've tried connecting my PC directly to the router. When I connected my laptop through the powerline it worked instantly. I am able to connect to the router via WiFi
