Ethernet Controller not working

I currently have a ASrock Z77 Extreme4 motherboard and I can't get my ethernet cable to work with it, in device manger I don't even have a LAN connection.

Is this a freshly made build? Did you activate anything in the BIOS beforehand?

My new Gigabyte mobos ethernet port wouldnt work till I loaded the driver! Have you tried that?

check that the port has some led on. shows that it trying to work. make sure there no part of the metal mb shield in the port. in the bios under onboard devices make sure the lan port is on. make sure it set to default some modes can turn off the lan port. try another lan cable if thee no ports. check that there no plastic clip or bent pins.
