Ethernet Crackling Noise

So my PC started making a crackling noise, I googled it to see what it might be and someone said something about the ethernet port and cord so I pushed my ethernet cord deeper into the hole (it was already clicked in) and the noise stopped. Will this be a bigger problem in the future? I usually swap my ethernet cord back and forth between my computer and console, should I stop doing that?

Something like that would be ideal. Small, low power, good reviews, no unnecessary features, best of all cheap.
