Hi! I'm having an issue with my ethernet connection.

When doing ipconfig /all I get this shown:

Either the DHCP Service on your router has a problem (unlikely) or Windows messed up the config (more likely)

Fact is you do not get an IP address assigned.

You could try ipconfig /renew
If this doesn't work set an IP manually that's within your router's subnet.
Your ISP can help you with that if you need assistance

@lsokolon
When I do ipconfig /renew in cmd it prints "Windows IP Configuration" and then doesn't do anything else but have a flashing "_"?

When I manually set the IP, I put
IP Address: 192.168.1.12
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Primary DNS Server: 8.8.8.8
Secondary DNS Server: 8.8.4.4

This gives me:

However, I still cannot connect to the internet and the troubleshooter says to restart the router. But this doesn't work

Clicking "see if fixed" gives me "the default gateway is available"

Then it automatically loaded a page saying "Please press Reconnect to restart your DSL line." But pressing reconnect appears to do nothing (probably the router still booting).

And then it worked.... Hmm let's see how long this lasts haha...

Thanks!

Okay... So disconnected again... This time the troubleshooter is telling me that I need to turn off my router again.... It's just a cycle... The default gateway is not available.... I'm dealing with having to turn off my router every 20 minutes....

Well, the issue started when we got the current router. We still have the old router but this isn't working at all because of the DSL line and it being configured to that specific router (to my understanding)
