Hi,
I just plugged in my Ethernet, as my Ethernet cable arrived, just a standard yellow and black Ethernet cable.
Anyway, my wifi gets around 1.73 mb/s when i am using the WIFI, sometimes it goes right down to 200 or 400 kb/s. so i plugeed in an Ethernet cable, it connects, but steam says launch in offline, i use my wifi to launch online, and it downloads at around 150 BYTES per second, not 150 kb/s or mb/s.
Extremely slow.
any fixes?

Solution
Where is this ethernet jack plugging into?
Did you ever download the ethernet drivers for your computer?
Is this some super cheap cable you bought online from some unknown brand?

my ISP is BT Broadband Home hub, the results to that speedtest was : 11.44 MB/s on wireless, Upload speed (on wifi) was: 0.98 MB/s. My ethernet results was: (download) was 0.00 and the upload speed, it didn't get to that (the download didn't start)

I dont know how to downbload the drivers for the MOBO, my motherboard is an
Gigabyte F2A68HM-HD2
my ethernet cable is plugged into the motherboard and the cable came with the BT router box.

Driver booster isn't just a program. It updates and installs every single driver (even missing ones)
also you can trust iObit
http://www.iobit.com/en/driver-booster-pro.php?AFF=40025&__c=1#
(the motherboard might not have dust but the blow trick solves everything sometime)
