Question Ethernet issue

I've set up an old router as a WiFi repeater upstairs, WiFi is working perfectly from both routers, ethernet works from the repeater fine also, but on main router ethernet keeps dropping out after about 20 minutes of use, then comes back on after a couple of minutes.
Anyone any ideas why it would be doing this?

Have you rebooted that router yet? If you haven't rebooted it, I would go ahead and do that and see if it helps.

Yeah several times, tried different ethernet cables a few times also...

Okay, so let's define 'dropping out'. Do the link lights turn off when this happens? Do they still flash with activity? Are they just solid?

Weird that a reset helped, but hey whatever gets it working again.
