Hi gus. A few days a go I got a new motherboard. It is the as rock z77 pro 4. It's been fine for 3days but this morning I woke up. Turned computer on and my computer wouldn't conmect to the Internet. I use an Ethernet cable for direct connection. On the bottom right of the screen I right clicked the Internet button thing with a cross over it and clicked troubleshoot and it says:
The real tek PCIe GBE family controller adapter is experiencing driver or hardware related problems.

If I then right click the Realtek PCIe under network adapters and go advanced it's says : this device is not working properly because windows cannot load the drivers required for this device but If I click update it had the later driver

Any reason why my internet isn't working? Reckon it's a faulty motherboard? Any help would be greatly appreciated

open control panel, go to system then device manager, find network adapters and right click and see if you can uninstall. If you can do it, unplug the ethernet cable then plug it back in, if not see if you can disable it then enable it. still no luck right lcick and go to properties and see if you can do a roll back on the driver.

Pull power to your pc, wait 30 seconds. Then plug power back in, and turn on pc. See if you have internet. If you do, you're in the same boat as me. I can only restore Internet access if I pull the power cord. Maybe a Wake-on-LAN issue? Or power saving issue of some type?

Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller issue
If anyone is having this problem in the future,
this is a very ulternative way and could be a easy way to begin with.
Now you should have another pc or laptop for this and a memory stick or a cd.

Steps:

1. Open up your internet browser on your other pc.
2. Goto this link: http://www.realtek.com.tw/Downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=7&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
3. Find your operating system for your pc and click the download link beside it.
4. If you have a popup click "save as" and to your cd or memory stick.
5. Goto your other pc and access the folder and click "setup".
6. You should know what to do from there.

Now if this does not work you must install the realtek lan drivers found at your
motherboard's manufacturing site or laptop's manufacturing site then reinstall this.
If all the above does not work for you then you must do a clean reinstall of windows and if
that does not work then its a faulty laptop or motherboard.
