My Ethernet/ LAN won't connect. It says the network is an, "Unidentified Network". I've searched the internet, I've uninstalled and re-installed my Ethernet controller, I've also tried using command prompt and doing a, "ipconfig /release" and then an, "ipconfig /renew" and nothing has worked. It also says in the troubleshooter that i have an, "Invalid IP Configuration". I've tried many other methods. My computer is an Asus G75VW Notebook with Windows 8 64-bit. The critical updates that installed right before the problem was for Microsoft Office 2010.

Critical Update to what? Sorry, I'm not trolling. A little more info on what it was you updated would be great. I have windows 8 and haven't noticed them asking for a critical update.

It didn't say, my computer was just alerting me that I had 2 days until a force restart to install critical updates. I decided to restart it. I there a way that I can check?

It would help a bit more if you could say what exact updates were installed, there are quite a few of them.

Maybe try reinstalling your internet driver? If you have antivirus, check that it's not messing around with anything?

Assuming windows 8 updates are anything like windows 7, you should be able to roll back updates I think. Did you try that? (although I don't know how it would behave for critical updates)

I'll try and find those updates to you guys. I'll check all my anti-virus and re-installing my internet drivers.
