Ethernet lights not flashing or coming on

Ethernet ports not flashing. Both the green and amber light do not come on. The green one might blink for a second then disappears. Here is what I have tried.

1. Took cable hooked it to another computer different wall jack. = works fine.

2. Took cable from same same wall jack = works fine.

3. Different cable and different wall jack = doesn't work

4. Took CPU connected into a entirely different room with different cable and wall jack = work fine.

5. Uninstalled driver, restarted. Drivers got re installed doesn't work on original cable and wall

Any suggestions?

All these wall jacks... they ARE each connected to a different port on a switch somewhere... right?

Some people simply twist all the wires together, color for color, and can't understand why it all doesn't work.

Look into the socket of your various Ethernet sockets. All 8 pins must be lined up and not bent or distorted. A bent or mis-aligned pin will ruin your day until it is found and corrected.

Was the wiring done by a pro? Wrong color order at sockets can also wreck your day.
