I recently upgraded to FIOS 500/500 mbps. I did a speed test on my wifi, and was getting aorund 200 mbps. I tried my Ethernet wired connection, and could not get greater than 100mbps! I connect my 9 year old Dell to the router router port with the same cable, and it gets 500mbps!

I called Dell, and I was informed that the card on my laptop was limited to 100mbps. The Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller used maxes out at 100mbps! It is not the end of the world for me. I do not do gaming nor is my laptop being used as a server. I just thought it was weird, and I thought I would let people know that might have a recent Dell laptop.

Solution
May well be per the specs that I found:

https://www.dell.com/support/manual...c30394-f35f-4f23-8d8b-8f8f6ac390e8&lang=en-us

Verify that I found the correct laptop, etc...

Use Device Manager, "ipconfig /all" to identify specific ethernet adapter installed in the laptop.

Update the applicable network adapter's drivers. Download via the manufacturer's website. Then reinstall and reconfigure for your network.

Another note:

On the new Dell - ensure that only one network adapter (either wired or wireless) is enabled at a time.

Not both.
