I moved my PC and now, the Ethernet cable is not being recognized. I have a gigabyte g1 gaming ga z170x gaming 5 motherboard. I have tried just about everything. Updated drivers, uninstalled, reinstall, disable, rebooted the modem... The strange thing is the LEDs come on when the power to the PC is off but shut off as soon as it boots. I'm out of ideas.

Edit: I say I moved my PC because everything worked fine before that. Cable is good too.

Solution
Moving a PC always involves bumps, drops, bangs, etc...

No matter how careful the mover may be.

Unplug your PC and open the case. Check that all internal components are fully and firmly in place. Cards, chips, cables, connectors, jumpers, etc..

Check the new location: Ethernet wall plug or power line adapters? Could be faulty... On either end.

Solution
When you plug the cable - check the LED on the router where this cable is connected, most routers have a dedicated LED for each connected port, and see whether this LED changes when you plug / unplug the cable.

If this does not help - get a good-to-work cable, even one meter, and move your PC next to the router.
