Recently, anything connected to Ethernet would not let me go online. I've tried to reset the BT Hub but that didn't work. I've looked it up and have possibly found the problem - an issue with the dhcp. Anyone have any solutions?

I can factory reset it if thats what you mean? Will this fix it? I just dont want to reset anything that has already been changed on the settings

They have been like that all along and i havent had any issues with them so far

I have just factory reset my router but that hasn't resolved the issue - only the wireless connections work but ethernet ones dont!

This is what shows when i type ipconfig /all

Well Windows should have adapter switching, but turn off your WiFi for a second and let the Ethernet try and connect. Can you also go to Network and Sharing Center and see if it says anything thing? Something wrong with your DHCP settings.

What's strange is that your ethernet doesn't have a default gateway IP, which lets me know something is truly wrong with the Ethernet part of your router.

What's the brand? Can you login to a 192.168.1.1 ?

Just tried it and it didnt work. My PS4 also isnt working (as its connected to ethernet). When i go to Network and Sharing Center it says that there is no internet access and has 'Unidentified network'

The brand is BT. It doesnt look like i can connect to 192.168.1.1

Do you own or do you lease the BT hub? If you lease it then get it replaced by the leasing company. If you own it then you should scrap it and buy a better quality modem/hub.

Honestly, I would go with a 3rd party router (i.e. ASUS). Get a modem from BT and just plug in the router. Yes, it is an extra device, but you will much more control over it. And you don't even lost quality. I pay for 300mbps and my speed test is always in the 400s.

I have just been on the phone to BT, and they couldn't help me and said that it was my computer that was having issues, but i know that it isnt my computer as my PS4 is having the same issue as well

As I understand it, the default IP for the BT is 192.168.1.254. And you indicate you factory reset the router. So 192.168.1.254 is now the IP address you need to use to access the admin pages.

Going back a couple of steps...

Current connectivity being similar to the following line diagram - correct?

ISP ----->Modem -----> router -----> to wired and wireless devices.... E.g., your PC, PS4 etc..

Check your ethernet cables and connections. Swap out each ethernet cable with a known working cable. Disconnect all wired devices and focus on getting just your wired pc working.

Then start adding back the other devices by installing and configuring them one at a time. Wired first then wireless.

May have a bad port or RJ45 connector.

Note:If you do not have or use IPv6 - disable it. May not hurt to do so even if you do have IPv6 and use it. Simplify to eliminate possibilities.

I just had a look at the ipconfig /all command and im not sure if it has reset the IP back to the default -
